Half Size Booklets - Matte
Half Size Booklets - Matte

Matte half-size booklets are half-folded and stitched (stapled) intended for small catalogs, pamphlets, playbills, and programs. The slight sheen of digital toner combined with uncoated paper results in a stylish and fashionable matte finish. Matte booklets sometimes feel a little thicker than their gloss counterparts despite the weight class being lighter. This is due to the process of producing coated/glossy papers.
Naturally, a matte finish is a little more expensive to achieve than coated papers (gloss). If people will be writing on the booklets, matte is the best format to select.
We strongly advise ordering a physical or video proof.
A Couple More Details
All custom booklets are "full-bleed" or borderless. We preserve white margins present in artwork unless otherwise instructed. If you have a tight deadline, please feel free to contact us concerning your print project.
Turnaround Time
Turnaround time for half-size booklet printing is three to five days which doesn't begin until the art is approved. Small orders may ship sooner.
Setup times, proof times, and approval times often vary greatly, so we ask customers with strict deadlines to please communicate with a Printkeg customer service representative. We will work very closely with you to stay on schedule. Please provide a deadline date in the messages field on the above form if essential.
Physical and Digital Proofs (PDF, Video, Physical)
We recommend customers order a physical or video proof for all half-size booklet printing to achieve top-notch results. Holding a physical sample booklet in your hands or reviewing a video can help you understand what changes, if any, need to be made. Please remember that the turnaround time begins once the physical proof is approved.
Sometimes you do not always have the extra time for physical proof, so a PDF or video proof might be enough to get one last look at the art before going to print. Please visit the Proof Options page to select the best option for your project and add it to your cart.
If you forgo proofing, our designers in the Art Department will still always review the artwork to ensure quality, resolution, and bleed.
Sending Files To Us
Please upload small booklet art on this page unless you are sending multiple or huge files. These files can be emailed to art@printkeg.com or delivered via third-party storage apps such as Dropbox, Google Drive, and HighTail.com. The above upload feature only accepts one file.
Art Setup for Half-Size Booklets
Customers can send art files to us in various formats, including spread and numerical. Many clients turn art in as a multipage PDF document with .25" bleed area, which we prefer. Providing enough bleed area is an essential part of producing beautiful booklets.
Each page should be 5.75" x 8.75" and all-important text and content should be at least .25" away from the edges.
We prefer booklets to be turned in as multipage files with a .25” bleed area. Some customers find it easier to submit half-sized booklet pages individually and numbered. If you prefer this method, please start with naming the cover page "1.jpg" or "1.pdf."
Shipping Half Size Booklets
We shrink-wrap half-size booklets and newsletters in stacks of varying sizes, depending on the order specifications. Our shipping department staff protects stacks further with thick bubble wrap for superior support and protection. Most booklet orders do ship by UPS due to the heavier weights of packages.

More About Our Booklet Papers
-
Glossy Paper
We utilize glossy paper (80# text) that folds nicely and exudes rich colors. Customers choose this paper for booklets more than any other.
-
Matte Paper
The matte paper (70# text) feels heavy, more opaque, and you can write on it. Some clients believe the creamier finish of flat booklets emits a higher-end product.
-
Upgraded Covers
Upgrade your cover to a thin card stock giving your booklets or comic books a longer shelf life and a more lavish feel.
Booklets Services
-
Digital or Video Proofs
We prefer video proofs since they offer accurate represenatations of your booklets for only $15. With digital proofs, a Printkeg artist will prepare your artwork for printing and send you a visual in PDF format via email.
-
Make Graphic Work
For $29 to $59, a Printkeg artist can tackle any problems that keep us from printing your booklet. Common fixes include adjusting page dimensions, tackling border issues, and reworking challenging "bleed" areas.
-
Free Art Inspections
A human artist reviews all booklet files before printing begins. If we notice any problems, a Printkeg representative will email you with options for moving forward.
