What Makes a Great Canvas Print
Not every image works well on canvas. The substrate has unique properties that make some images shine and others struggle. A few things to keep in mind when selecting work for canvas:
- High-resolution source files matter more on canvas. Canvas texture amplifies image flaws — a slightly blurry photo on paper looks more pronounced on canvas. Aim for at least 300 DPI at final print size.
- Strong contrast and color saturation work especially well. Canvas's matte texture absorbs light differently than glossy paper, so vibrant images with good contrast translate beautifully.
- Photographs with fine detail or text may need adjustment. The canvas weave creates a slight texture that can soften very fine details. For photographs with critical sharp detail (text overlays, intricate line work), consider whether canvas or paper is the better fit.

File Setup for Stretched Canvas
- Resolution: 300 DPI at final print size (canvas amplifies low resolution more than paper).
- Color mode: CMYK preferred; sRGB acceptable.
- Accepted formats: PDF (preferred), TIFF, PNG, JPG.
- Bleed for standard 0.75" depth: Add 1" of bleed on all sides for proper stretching.
- Bleed for 1.5" gallery wrap: Add 1.5" of bleed on all sides for deeper wrap.
- Wrap consideration: Critical content (faces, focal points, text) should sit at least 1" inside the visible front of the canvas — areas near the edges will wrap around the wooden bars and won't be visible from the front.
- Mirror or solid color edges: Choose how the wrapped sides should appear — mirrored content (your image extends and reflects onto the sides), solid color (typically black or white sides), or extended background (ideal if your image has a uniform background area near the edges).

How do I hang stretched canvas?
Each canvas arrives with mounting hardware installed — typically a sawtooth hanger or wire. Use a standard wall anchor or picture hook rated for the canvas weight. For larger sizes, use two anchors for stability. No additional framing is required.
Can I order canvas in custom sizes?

Will my colors look the same on canvas as they do on screen?
