Design Tips for Bookmarks

Because of the tall, narrow shape, bookmarks reward vertical compositions, ladder-style information hierarchies, and oriented typography. Consider placing a hole at the top if you plan to add tassels or ribbons (note the safe zone). For two-sided designs, a common approach is to use one side for visual impact (artwork, photography, or a hero quote) and the reverse for utility content (author bio, event details, QR codes, or contact information). When ordering multiple designs, keep a consistent visual system across the set — shared color palette, typography, or border treatment — so they read as a cohesive collection rather than unrelated pieces.
