Professional Giclée Canvas Prints, Unmounted and Ready to Stretch

Our unmounted giclée canvas sheets deliver archival-grade color and detail at a price point built for working artists, photographers, and galleries. Each print is produced on premium 17 mil art canvas using a professional 12-ink pigment system, giving you the vivid color, deep blacks, and subtle gradation that fine art reproduction demands. Canvas ships flat or rolled, unstretched, so you have full control over stretching, framing, and presentation.

Whether you're producing a limited edition run, stocking a gallery, preparing a museum exhibit, or shipping to a custom framer, our giclée canvas is built to meet professional reproduction standards without the premium gallery markup.

Why Artists and Galleries Choose Our Giclée Canvas

  • Vibrant and fade-resistant: Pigment-based inks on archival canvas retain color and detail for decades under normal display conditions.
  • Premium 17 mil art canvas: Heavyweight cotton-poly blend specifically engineered for professional reproduction and stretching.
  • 12-ink color system: Expanded color gamut captures subtle skin tones, rich shadow detail, and the full tonal range of fine art originals.
  • Artwork inspection before print: Our designers review every file for resolution, color mode, and print-readiness before your job runs.
  • Professional CMYK conversion: We optimize your RGB files for accurate color reproduction on our presses rather than relying on automated conversion.
  • Versatile reproduction: Ideal for fine art, digital illustration, photography, mixed media, and commercial reproduction work.
  • Crack-resistant surface: Canvas coating is formulated to flex during stretching without hairline cracking along the edges or corners.
  • Gallery-ready results: Print quality meets the standards required by working galleries, juried shows, and museum gift shops.

Who Unmounted Canvas Is Built For

Working artists produce reproductions of original paintings, drawings, and mixed media work — our giclée canvas holds color fidelity across editions, so print 50 looks like print 1.

Photographers selling gallery editions, boutique prints, or fine art portraiture. The matte canvas surface removes glare and adds the texture buyers associate with fine art rather than a glossy photo print.

Galleries and art dealers stocking reproductions of artists on their roster, or producing editioned prints for shows where custom stretcher depths and framing are part of the presentation.

Museums and cultural institutions produce archival reproductions of works in their collection for education, gift shops, or traveling exhibits.

Custom framers and print finishers who prefer to stretch, gallery-wrap, or float-mount canvas themselves using their own stretcher bars and finishing techniques.

Interior designers and staging professionals source large-format art for residential and commercial projects on deadline.

Available Sizes

Our giclée canvas is available in more than twenty sizes, from gallery wall basics to oversized statement pieces. The sizes below are the most commonly ordered by our artist and designer customers:

  • Gallery wall and small accent: 12x12, 12x18, 16x20
  • Medium feature pieces: 18x24, 20x24, 20x30, 22x28
  • Large statement and above-furniture: 24x30, 24x36, 30x40
  • Square formats for minimalist and contemporary interiors: 12x12, 24x24, 36x36
  • Panoramic formats for above sofas, headboards, and hallways: 12x24, 12x36, 36x60
  • Oversized statement pieces for large walls and commercial spaces: 36x48, 36x60, 40x60

Need help choosing the right size for a specific wall or space? Our canvas print size guide walks through the proportion rules interior designers use, including the two-thirds rule for sizing art above furniture.

Canvas vs. Paper: Which Is Right for Your Artwork?

Canvas and fine art paper each have strengths depending on the artwork, the presentation, and the buyer. Canvas is the traditional choice for painting reproductions, gallery wraps, and pieces meant to feel textural and tactile. Fine art paper is preferred for photography, illustration, and graphic work where sharp detail and a flat presentation matter most.

Our detailed comparison guide on canvas prints vs. paper prints covers the pros, costs, archival properties, and the situations where artists typically choose each format.

Stretching and Mounting Tips

Canvas sheets are designed to be stretched over standard or custom stretcher bars. They can also be traditionally framed. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Acclimate before stretching. Let the canvas rest flat in the room where it will be stretched for at least 24 hours so the material can adjust to humidity.
  • Plan your wrap. Decide before you stretch whether you want a gallery wrap (image continues around the sides), a mirror wrap (edges are mirrored for clean sides), or a white-edge wrap (white border visible on the sides).
  • Use quality stretcher bars. Heavy-duty stretcher bars at 1.5" or 1.75" depth give canvas a modern gallery presence and resist warping on larger sizes.
  • Stretch from the center outward. Staple the center of each side first, then work toward the corners to keep tension even and prevent rippling.
  • Don't over-tension. Canvas relaxes slightly after stretching; starting too tight can cause cracking along the edges over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What file format and resolution should I upload?

We accept JPG, TIFF, PDF, and PNG files. For best results, upload at 300 DPI at the final print size. Our designers review every file before printing and will reach out if we spot resolution or color issues that could affect quality.

Do you handle color correction and CMYK conversion?

Yes. Every file goes through a manual CMYK conversion and designer review as part of our standard production process. We optimize your file for accurate reproduction on our 12-ink press rather than relying on automated conversion.

How long does production take?

Most canvas orders enter production within two or three business days of file approval. Production time varies by size and quantity.

Is the canvas archival?

Yes. Our canvas and pigment ink combination is rated for archival display under normal indoor lighting conditions. For maximum longevity, display prints away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity.

Do you offer custom sizes?

We can accommodate custom sizes on request for gallery projects, large commercial installations, and edition work.

Can I get my canvas already stretched?

Yes. We offer stretched and gallery-wrapped canvas as a separate product line if you prefer your prints finished and ready to hang on arrival. Unmounted sheets are the right choice if you (or your framer) want control over stretcher depth, wrap style, or custom finishing.
